 Dong Mingzhu, Chairperson and CEO of Gree, delivers remarks on behalf of the newly formed Private Sector Advisory Board

Gree Electric Appliances Inc. is a major Chinese appliance manufacturer, headquartered in Zhuhai, Guangdong province and founded in 1991. It is the world's largest residential air-conditioner manufacturer but also produces small household appliances.

Gree has been a long-term valued partner of UNDP China. Dong Mingzhu, chairperson and CEO of Gree was named 'UNDP Advocate for Sustainable Urban Development Project'. Gree Electric sponsored the newly launched 2015 China Sustainable Cities Report, developed by UNDP and Xinhua News Agency. The report was launched to promote more balanced, sustainable development of Chinese cities. 

Dong Mingzhu also recently became a founding member of the newly launched Private Sector Advisory Board.

We work with Gree to:

  • Advocate more balanced development for Chinese cities
  • Enhance involvement of private sector in key development issues
  • Provide strategic support and technical knowledge to advance UNDP China’s work and objectives on the different aspects of sustainable development
  • Jointly promote sustainable development and business engagement through innovative communication campaigns.
