Dr. Meng is currently the vice dean and chief economist of Tencent Research Institute. Her research covers mainly the structures and development trends of Chinese internet companies. She is especially interested in studying the trends of SNS, m-government, and the interplay of mobile web and social welfare. Before joining Tencent, she headed Technology Media and Telecom center of Deloitte. She was a research lead of Accenture Institute of High Performance, a principal researcher of Samsung Economic Research Institution, and an assistant professor in Renmin University, in sequence before joining Tencent. Dr. Meng has published more than 20 articles in an array of business and academic journals including China Daily, Harvard Business Review. She regularly lectures in in two top MBA programs in China. She also serves as a senior advisor for China Information Economy Association.
DENG Li is the Chief Content Officer of the New Hearst Group Marie Claire. She is in charge of all print media and new media products of Marie Claire, including Marie Claire magazine, Marie Claire Chinese website, Marie Claire Baby Magazine and Marie Claire Beauty Plus APP. In 2002, Deng Li joined Marie Claire, and has served as the editor in chief of Marie Claire, editorial director and associate publisher. In 2011, she founded the Marie Claire Female Happiness Foundation, which is the first charitable foundation initiated by high-end media in China, and she served as the head of the foundation. In 2013, she was elected as the 2013 Phoenix Annual Fashion Leader.
ZHANG Wei currently works as the Assistant Country Director and Chief Communications Officer of UNDP China, in charge of communication, innovation and strategic partnerships with the public and private sectors. Under her leadership, UNDP China has planned and conducted multiple international, regional and national high-level events and large-scale, impactful campaigns, including the United Nations 70th Anniversary - Concert with Lang Lang; the global “Tell Everyone” campaing; and UNDP Animal Ambassador for Sustainable Development- naming campaign. Zhang Wei serves as a strong advocate for UN visions and key development issues, including poverty alleviation, inequality, climate change and gender issues. She received her Master’s degrees in Journalism and Latin-American Studies from Stanford University. Before joining UNDP, she worked in media.
JI Shisan is the founder and CEO of Guokr and the founder of Zaih. Mr. Ji holds a doctorate in neurobiology. As a science columnist, he has edited the book When the Color Of the Voice Is Tasted Sweet, which got the National Library Wenjin Award. He wrote Review of the Year 2015 for the Turning Points column of the New York Times. Mr. Ji has won several national awards in science communication, educational innovation, and social innovation. Mr. Ji won the Shanghai Popular Science Award, and was elected the National Science Advanced Worker and Esquire Annual Scientific Disseminator. On March 16, 2016, Mr. Ji was elected a 2016 Young Global Leader.
Mr. Patrick Haverman is the UNDP Deputy Country Director in China. He graduated from the Rotterdam School of Management in Business Administration in 1993. In 1997, he participated in a bi-lateral development project in Bolivia, after which he joined the United Nations Development Programme in 2000 in Honduras. He was the Deputy Resident Representative Strategic Operations in Tanzania in 2003. In 2006 he became the project advisor for the UNDP for the Millennium Villages project, working with the Earth Institute at Columbia University, for an implementation in 13 countries in Africa. Before coming to China, he was in charge of a set of African projects as a country counselor.
ZOE Shen is the Vice Secretary General of One Foundation. Zoe Shen worked at Horizon Research Consultancy Group for over a decade. She honed her leaderships skills at Horizon eventually becoming the youngest Vice President in the organization. She has spoken at domestic and foreign research institutes and think tanks including Tsinghua University, Harvard University, the National Committee on United States-China Relations and the East-West Institute. After completing her Hubert Humphrey fellowship in the U.S. in 2011, Zoe came back to China and shifted her career from a social researcher to a leadership role in the philanthropy industry. She led an NGO startup, “Black Apple Youth,” funded by Horizon focusing on youth development.
Xi Zhinong, born in 1964 in Yunnan Dali, is the founder of Wild China Studio, a famous Chinese wildlife photographer and environmentalist. From 1992 to 1996, Xi Zhinong finished six visits of Baima Snow Mountain National Nature Reserve, and brought to the public the life of Yunnan golden monkeys, a little-known national level protected species, and thus protected their habitat of a virgin forest. In 1997, he reported the crises of a huge number of Tibetan antelopes being hunted and the efforts that "wild yak team" made to protect them, which greatly raised the awareness of the protection of the source of the Yangtze River and Tibetan antelope domestically and internationally. Xi Zhinong has been committed to the photographing and protection of wild animals, trying to promote natural protection by using the power of images.
Ma Weiwei is the founder of Miguo and has a master of law from Yat-sen University. She is a debater in International Varsity Debate and a presenter. From 2002-2003, she led the team to participate in the International Varsity Debate and won the championship. In 2014, she participated in the first season of Let’s Talk and won the first prize. She is the presenter of speculative talk show Black and White Star and the founder of Miguo Culture. She showed a brand new way of women’s talking style through Let’s Talk. As a representative of independent and knowledgeable female in the new arena, she promoted gender equality to help women grow. In July 2016, she was appointed the Ambassador of Guangdong Adolescent Anti-drug Promotion.
GUO Zihong is the Director of Technology Industrialization of Global Good. He is mainly responsible for the technology industrialization of disruptive cold chain technology, medical diagnosis, and agriculture and animal husbandry technology in commercial application in developing countries. He is also responsible for the development of strategic partnership with government agencies, industry and non-governmental organizations. Prior to joining Global Good, he was a senior research scientist and senior engineering manager in the lab of Intellectual Ventures. Dr. Guo has 20 U.S. patents in multidisciplinary technical fields. He received a master's degree in Mechanical Engineering from University of Washington in the United States, a master's degree in Aerospace Engineering, and a bachelor's degree in Aerospace Engineering from Nanjing University of Aeronautics & Astronautics.
Derek Shen is the Vice President of LinkedIn and President of LinkedIn China. As a senior manager in the internet industry, Mr. Shen brings rich experience and a diversified background. He has served as the senior executive in large multinational Internet companies and has successful entrepreneurial experience. Mr. Shen joined LinkedIn and served as the Vice President and President of LinkedIn China in January 2014. Prior to joining LinkedIn China, Mr. Shen founded Nuomi.com in early 2010, and successfully developed it into China’s top three shopping website. In June 2005, Mr. Shen joined Google as Engineering Manager in U.S.A., leading a team of engineers and taking charge of developing the internal management system.
Mr. Alan Li, CEO of China Merchants New Energy Group Limited (“CMNE”), is responsible for the Group’s business strategies, mergers and acquisitions, capital market development and daily business operation. Mr. Alan Li also serves as CEO and Chairman of the Board of Directors of United Photovoltaics Group Limited, a subsidiary of CMNE, listed in the mainboard of Hong Kong Stock Exchange. At the same time, Mr. Li is also the Executive Director and CEO of New Energy Exchange Limited (formerly known as “Renewable Energy Trade Board Corporation”), another subsidiary of CMNE. In 2013, Mr. Li collaborated with state-owned enterprises, such as GD Solar Co., Ltd. and State Grid Corporation of China, and established Photovoltaic Green Ecosystem Organization (“PGO”), the first eco-system that integrates the entire value chain of the photovoltaic industry in China, which has significantly driven forward the development of photovoltaics industry in China. Mr. Li is the current president of PGO. In April 2014, Mr. Li initiated the first Internet crowd funded PV power plant in the world. In April 2014, he was awarded the Xinhua news agency 2016 the most influential PV Leader Award.

He had held the positions of Assistant to Chairman of TCL Corporation, VP of TCL Multimedia and GM of Emerging Markets Business Center. He has rich experience in international business operations. Mr. Hao is skilled in cross-cultural business and experienced in automotive, on-line gaming and consumer electronics industry. Mr. Hao earned a Bachelor’s degree in Economics from York University (Canada) and EMBA degree from Cheung Kong Graduate School of Business.
LAO Lang is a Chinese pop singer, famous for his songs such as "My Brother who Sleeps in My Upper Berth", "My Deskmate", becoming the representative of campus folk singers in China. He was elected the Best Male Singer in the Chinese Mainland at the eighth Top Chinese Music Award in April 2008. In September 2002, he joined China Tibet Mountaineering Association and the snow mountain cleaning team, climbing to over 6000 meters above the sea level and help clean up Mount Qomolangma. On December 3, 2002, he was appointed the ambassador of both China Children and Teenagers’ Fund and Peking University Sunshine Volunteers Association.
MS. Agi Veres is the Country Director of the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) in China and has been working for UNDP since 2002 in various capacities. Prior to her appointment as Country Director in UNDP China, she was the Deputy Resident Representative of UNDP in Lesotho from October 2011. From 2009 to 2011, she worked at the regional level as Senior Programme Coordinator in the Bratislava Regional Centre for Europe and the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS). Prior to join UNDP, Ms. Veres worked in the private sector as a management consultant for Accenture, as an Organizational Change Management expert in Hungary and New York. She specialized in organizational effectiveness, communication and process reengineering.
LI Shi is Professor in the School of Economics and Business at Beijing Normal University and the Chair Professor of Cheung Kong Scholars Programme. He is a doctoral advisor as well as the acting Director of the Institute for Income Distribution. He is the Vice President of China Institute of Labor Economics. He is member of Academic Committee of China Economic System Reform, academic committee member of China Development Research Foundation, and member of Academic Committee of China (Hainan) Reform and Development Research Institute. He is also a member of the Advisory Committee of Poverty Alleviation Office of State Council. He was awarded the Sun Yefang Prize in 1997 and 2011, the third Zhang Peigang Award for outstanding achievements in development economics, sixth China Rural Development Research Award for outstanding achievements in scientific research, the second prize of the Ministry of education in 2014, and other important awards.
LU Chuan is a Chinese director, screenwriter, and producer. He graduated from the Directing Program at Beijing Film Academy. In 1999, the TV drama Black Hole written by Lu Chuan caused a sensation in China. In 2004, Kekexili: Mountain Patrol written and directed by Lu Chuan domestically received various official film prizes. His film, the Nanjing Massacre, City of Life and Death (2009), took home numerous international awards including the Golden Seashell at the 57th San Sebastian International Film Festival. In 2015, Lu Chuan wrote and directed the 3D VFX fantasy adventure blockbuster Chronicles of the Ghostly Tribe, which premiered in China to a box office of $107 million USD. The wildlife feature film We Were Born In China directed by Lu Chuan was released in China in 2016.
ZHONG Sheng is the CEO and Co-founder of BottleDream. She is a storyteller and a practitioner, who is devoted to making more meaningful things interesting and make more young people change makers through BottleDream. She believes that 'What You Give Is What You Get'. She graduated from Sun-Yat Sen University, with a master’s degree of Social Linguistics. During her 6 years experience as a journalist, she wrote cover stories for Portrait magazine and was the in-depth reporter for People Magazine and City Zine. She was also the Associate Publisher of Owspace, a 10 years old famous bookstore in Beijing. She was 2014 China-Germany Media Ambassador of German Bosch Foundation, and a member of 2016 Harvard Seed for Social Innovation.
LI Yinuo is the Chief Representative of the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation Beijing Representative Office. She oversees the Gates Foundation’s team in China and works with China’s public, private, and nonprofit sectors to address key domestic and global health, development, and policy issues. Yinuo joined the foundation in 2015 after a career at McKinsey & Co., where she was a partner at the firm’s Palo Alto office. Yinuo was elected a partner at McKinsey in 2011. In 2014, she moved to McKinsey’s office in Palo Alto, California, United States. Yinuo has a B.S. in biology from Tsinghua University in Beijing and a Ph.D. in molecular biology from UCLA.
Kazuis the Co-founder of Alesca Life and has a deep understanding of the social, cultural, and professional nuances of numerous Asia-Pacific countries having previously worked at Bloomberg and co-founded a leading provider of innovative mobile telecom solutions. He has extensive knowledge of the procurement, assembly, quality control, and logistics landscape in China, South Korea, and Japan with many working relationships. Kazu strives to better understand the needs of the customer and deliver superior results by coupling an innovative, localized oversight structure with a synergistic, cross-border product development process. He studied marketing and international business at McGill University.
Sam Waldo CEO & Co-founder of Mantra and is from Houston, Texas. He graduated from the Columbia University. In 2008, he came to China for the first time to learn Chinese. In 2010, he came to live and teach in impoverished areas in Yunnan. There he gained more knowledge about Chinese culture and more profound understanding of the modernization of China. While gradually understanding his rural students, he felt their strong hope for the future. After two years of work in Beijing's high-tech industry, Sam joined Education in Sight to deal with the myopia problem of rural students. Since then, he led the Mantra based on his experience and strength - a new popular glass brand which combines the most advanced manufacturing technology, pioneering design and social mission to change the glass industry and consumer culture in China.
Li lin is the Executive Program Director of WWF China. Li’s duties focus on planning and implementing the Ecological Footprint Protection Project, developing strategic partnerships inside and outside of China, with the goal of reducing human’s negative impact on nature ecological system and biodiversity. Her work covers a broad spectrum of areas, including addressing governance, financing, markets, investment and trade as driving forces for both biodiversity loss and conservation, promoting the inclusion of the concept of ecological footprint into key country decisions, focusing on the function of finance on sustainable development and focusing on China’s overseas investment and addressing their impacts to the ecological systems.
Wu Kongju is the Deputy Director of the Animal Management Department at Chengdu Giant Panda Breeding Research Base. She studied in Wildlife Department in the Northeast Forestry University starting from 1988 and started to work in Wolong Nature Reserve in 1992. She joined Chengdu Zoo in 1995. In 2000, she went to Japan Shirahama Safari for international cooperation. In 2003 she went to Miranda Stuart Zoo in the United States for international cooperation. In 2004, she was appointed the Deputy Director of the Animal Management Department at Chengdu Zoo. She was appointed as the director in 2006. In April 2006, she was appointed as a senior animal husbandry. In 2008, she started to work in Chengdu Giant Panda Breeding Research Base.
YUAN Shanshan is a famous actress in China. She is well-known for her performance in "Palace II", "Swordsman" and other TV series. She also starred in the movie "Pancake Man", who has a box office of over a billion yuan. She is the initiator of "Curse of Love" charity campaign. She had a TED talk with the theme of "Defending Myself in Internet Violence". She was also elected as the most sunshine actress with an attitude in December 2015, an annual award by Netease. In January 2016, Yuan Shanshan was appointed as "UNDP Panda Celebrity Advocate".
Mr. Li Junfeng is currently serving as the director general of China’s National Center for Climate Change Strategy and International Cooperation. He is a member of China’s National Energy Advisory Council, the Expert-Committee of National High-tech Program, and Academy Committee of China’s Environmental Protection Ministry.Mr. Li has dedicated his 30-year career life to energy economy and energy environment studies. He was in charge of the structure and drafting of China’s Renewable Energy Law and China’s Medium and Long-Term Development Plan for Renewable Energy Development. He also participated in the research and drafting of China’s Medium and Long-Term Science-Technology Development Program Outline, the Draft of China’s Energy Law, China’s National Climate Change Program.
SUN Amei is the Director of the Huayi Brothers Foundation, initiator of the Pocket Money Cinema project, and initiator and film producer of One Day. She has been visiting remote impoverished areas in China to air movies for children there. She is the founder of One Day Chorus, and one of the first film producers to share their ideas of charity at UN Headquarters in New York.
HUAN Shitong has been a Senior Program Officer for tuberculosis (TB) at the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation (BMGF) China Office since 2008. At the Gates Foundation, Dr. Huan is responsible for all China related TB projects. After earning his medical degree in 1998, Dr. Huan worked for 5 years as a TB clinician at the Beijing Tuberculosis and Thoracic Tumor Institute, the most well-known TB treatment center in China. From there, Dr. Huan developed an interest in public health and joined the Foreign Loan Office of the Ministry of Health as a senior project officer. In this capacity, he managed a $104 million World Bank TB Project as well as a World Bank Avian Flu Project.
