China- UNDP Global Cooperation 2017 Highlights

China has increasingly become open to international cooperation and multilateralism, and is now actively exploring new channels of cooperation through a strong partnership with UNDP. Collaborating under the framework of South-South cooperation and the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI), UNDP offers a unique opportunity to maximize development impact by combining the development experience of China with UNDP’s expertise and global platform to advance SDGs across globe.

This Annual Highlights offers an overview of the key achievements in 2017 resulting from the China – UNDP Global Cooperation. In this year, UNDP and China have engaged in 10 trilateral projects in 12 countries with 621,533 people benefited. 9 major research publications and 2 global conferences have provided strong advisory support and connected Chinese institutions with other development partners. 2017 also witnessed UNDP and China strengthened ties for cooperation on sustainable development with the signing of an Action Plan for the BRI. UNDP will continue to promote sustainable development and to empower people to build better lives.
