Government of China teams up with UNDP in post disaster recovery in Bangladesh

December 06, 2017: In Bangladesh, the 2017 South-Asian monsoon floods inundated the northern flood plains of the country, affecting 7 million people in 31 districts. Flooding settlements, the water destroyed 82,000 houses and damaged many more, leaving 320,000 people in need of support to repair their homes and replace their belongings once the flood waters receded.

China recovery aid reached over 31,800 households in flood-affected areas of Tarai

March 25, 2018: UNDP, with the funding support from the Government of People’s Republic of China, provided recovery support to over 31,800 families affected by the 2017 floods over the last three months.

The People’s Republic of China and UNDP Pakistan sign US$4 million agreement to support crisis-affected areas of FATA and Balochistan

February 02, 2018: In a unique example of south-south collaboration, the People’s Republic of China and the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) Pakistan have signed a US$4 million agreement to provide assistance over four months in areas of the Federally Administered Tribal Areas (FATA) and Balochistan that have been affected by natural and human-made crises.

Officials from Dominica, China and UNDP Assess Recovery Efforts

March 09, 2018: High level representatives from the Government of the Commonwealth of Dominica, the Government of the People’s Republic of China and the UN Development Programme (UNDP) conducted site visits to the Princess Margaret Hospital, the Woodbridge Bay Port, the Dublanc Health Center and a home in Colihaut to examine the progress of roofing repairs.

Roof repairs begin in Barbuda with US$ 2million support from China Aid

January 26, 2018: In support of national efforts undertaken to repair affected buildings in Barbuda, the first roofing repairs with China Aid Post Disaster Restoration initiative kicked off today, led by the Antigua and Barbuda’s National Office of Disaster Services (NODS) and implemented by the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP).
