UNDP Supports 1st China (Shanghai) International Technology Fair
The 1st China (Shanghai) international Technology Fair (CSITF), jointly sponsored by the Ministry of Commerce, Ministry of Science & Technology, State Intellectual Property Office and the Shanghai Municipal People’s Government, was held on 8-11 May 2013 in Shanghai. Under the theme of “innovation-Driven Development, Intellectual Property Protection and Technology Trade Promotion” the CSITF provided an important opportunity for the exhibition and promotion of new technology as well as promoting technological trade services.
UNDP supported the event, with UNDP China Country Director Mr. Christophe Bahuet invited to deliver a speech at the Opening Forum. “Part of UNDP’s mandate globally is to assist governments in transitioning to greener economies, characterised by reduced consumption and lower emissions, but also increased energy access and an improved standard of living”, noted Mr. Bahuet in his speech. During his stay in Shanghai, Mr. Bahuet also had the chance to meet with Mr. Han Zheng, Secretary of the CPC Shanghai Municipal Committee, to exchange views on how to strengthen cooperation between UNDP and Shanghai in the future.
