UNDP Administrator, Helen Clark, and Vice-Minister of Commerce, Mr. Li Jinzao held productive talks on future cooperation between the two organisations. Together, they exchanged views on several key areas where they hope to see further progress made through the development of a partnership that has already spanned more than 30 years. Topics discussed included the promotion of sustainable development, both globally and domestically, as well as South-South Cooperation. 

During the meeting, Mr. Li expressed his gratitude to UNDP for its unwavering support to China during its reform process. In doing so, he was keen to highlight the success of the country's first trilateral cooperation initiative with UNDP and Cambodia, as an indication of UNDP's invaluable contribution to the sharing of China's experiences with the developing world. In addition to expressing their desire to build upon this success, both leaders outlined closer working relations and mutual understand as crucial factors in their ability to engage in further joint programmes.
