Message from Ban Ki-moon and Speech by Renata Lok-Dessallien at the 4th North-East Asia Forum on the Occasion of the International Day of Peace
On 21 September 2011, Ms. Renata Dessallien, United Nations Resident Coordinator in China, delivered a Peace message on behalf of the UN Secretary-General during the celebration of the International Day of Peace.The event was held in Shenyang, Liaoning Province, and had a high level of participation, including Mr. Wang Gang, Member of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China’s Central Committee and Vice Chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC); Ms. Yan Junqi, Vice Chairwoman of the 11th Standing Committee of the National People’s Congress and Vice President of the Chinese People’s Association for Peace and Disarmament; Mr. Lee Hong-koo, Former Prime Minister of South Korea; Mr. Tomiichi Murayama, Former Prime Minister of Japan, and Mr. Sanj Bayar, Former Prime Minister of Mongolia.
