First bilingual comic book promoting low carbon living unveiled in Beijing
As part of the “Our Part” initiative established in 2008 by UNDP China and Zhou Xun, National Goodwill Ambassador, the Green Life Comic Book was designed to promote environmental citizenship and awareness. As China’s first bilingual cartoon book on the subject of low carbon, the book enlists the support of China’s youth to combat and prevent future environmental harm using pictures and comics.
The comic book project features 57 works from 16 artists from Mainland China, Taiwan and Hong Kong, who showed a consistent interest in environmental protection throughout their artwork.
The first 100,000 books Our Part will be distributed to primary and middle schools in major cities across the country through the Ministry of Education. Making this project possible were long-standing partners of UNDP: China’s Top Brands Magazine, an affiliate of Xinhua News Agency, and Huayi Brothers Media Co.
