UNDP China undertook a mission to Ghana from 17-28 February with a team of Chinese technology and policy experts and a representative from Ministry of Science and Technology's environment agency, ACCA21.
The China-Africa Seminar on Economic and Technological Development Zones (ETDZs) and Sustainable Development was convened on 16-22 January 2013 in Beijing and Chongqing, co-sponsored by UNDP and International Poverty Reduction Centre in China (IPRCC).

Today saw the conclusion of a three day event in which UNDP hosted a China Community Dialogue on the theme of Being Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender (LGBT) in Asia.

UNDP China Country Director Christophe Bahuet Addresses Participants at Meeting on Sustainable Development and Enterprise Competitiveness, Beijing
At the the First Annual Meeting on Sustainable Development and Enterprise Competitiveness held in Beijing on 22 November, Mr. Christophe Bahuet, UNDP China Country Director, welcomed the participants and recognized the importance of such gatherings.
The event convened more than 70 representatives from China and Africa, including those from 15 African Governments, universities and businesses, as well as representatives from international organisations including UNDP and the World Bank.
A policy dialogue on “Interpreting the Chinese Dream: Challenges Facing the New Leadership” was held in the United Nations Compound in Beijing. In attendance were the Austrian, Brazilian and Philippine ambassadors to China, representatives from country embassies and officials from a wide range of interested international organisations.
Xu Haoliang, Assistant Secretary General of the United Nations and Director of the Asia-Pacific Bureau of UNDP, visited China
From 23 to 25 October, Xu Haoliang, Assistant Secretary General of the United Nations and Director of the Asia-Pacific Bureau of UNDP, visited China. During his visit Mr. Xu met with a wide range of members of the Chinese government, including from the Ministry of Commerce, National Development and Reform Commission, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and Organization Department of the CPC Central Committee.
Dr. Rajendra K. Pachauri, Chair of the Nobel Peace Prize-winning Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC), today addressed Chinese and international audiences on global climate change issues, at an event which also featured a discussion of a groundbreaking report between China and India on low carbon collaboration.
