    A memorandum of understanding (MOU) to promote the collaboration between China and Mongolia on biodiversity conservation was signed between Xinjiang Autonomous Region Liangheyuan Provincial Nature Reserve and the Mongolia Munkahairhan National Park on October 13th, with the support from the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP)-Global Environment Facility (GEF) “Strengthening the Management Effectiveness of the Protected Area Landscape in Altai Mountains and Wetlands” project (hereby referred as UNDP-GEF Altai project).

  • Changes of Herdsman Life in Sanjiangyuan National Nature Reserve Oct 21, 2016

    As part of the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) - Global Environment Facility (GEF) Qinghai Project in Sanjiangyuan National Nature Reserve (SNNR), herdsman in Qinghai Province recently received catering and cooking trainings, as well as recieving newly installed solar street lights and clean water facilitaties. Such activities are part of the project’s community co-managment work, to stengthen the effectiveness of protected areas system and promote models of community co-management in protected areas.

    The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) China, in collaboration with the Executive Office of the Secretary General and the National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC) has hosted the first international workshop to facilitate South-South Cooperation for Climate Change and enhance the communication between China and other developing countries. The workshop brought together more than 50 participants from 9 countries including; Ecuador, Jamaica, Guinea, Zimbabwe, Seychelles, Tanzania, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, and Mongolia.
