Our project to phase out toxic DDT pesticide usage, in line with the Stockholm Convention, was jointly launched in 2009 by the UNDP, the Ministry of Environmental Protection and the Ministry of Agriculture. It has now been scaled up to encompass three demonstration project sites with training facilities and farmer field schools in Shaanxi, Hubei and Shandong. Here one beneficiary, a farmer named Dang Jiuru, talks about the difference this project has made in his life.

To promote the idea of a low-carbon lifestyle to Chinese citizens, the National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC) with the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) on June 10th 2014 launched a Public Service Announcement (PSA) themed “A Call for Low-Carbon Life.”
