Hydrogen Economy

Hydrogen can be produced from various renewable energy resources and has ZERO emissions after combustion. UNDP is working to make Hydrogen Economy a reality - a future which fully utilizes hydrogen as the main power source to meet the energy demands of society,  replacing fossil fuels and helping to address many energy and environmental issues in China.

Fuel Cell Technology

In order to mitigate climate change, UNDP strongly promotes and encourages the use of "green" technology. As part of the vision for a hydrogen economy, for over a decade, UNDP China has supported the demonstration and commercialization of fuel cell vehicle (FCV) technology. Production of FCVs has expanded to multiple cities across China as part of Hydrogen Economy Pilots that have been developed to facilitate a shift towards a sustainable and low-carbon pathway in the country. Read more
