Conference in Belt and Road era 2017 held by UNV - Beijing Volunteer Service Federation - China International Economic and Technological Exchange Center successfully convened (2017).

UNV China has been utilizing social media platforms such as Weibo to increase public awareness about the contribution of volunteers to peace and social development, calling for aspiring action to volunteerism through the promotion of national UN Volunteer opportunities, as well as of project cooperation and events relevant to the work of the UN Volunteers China Country Office. The 2nd International Volunteer Service Exchange Conference in Belt and Road era 2017 was held by UNV, Beijing Volunteer Service Federation and China International Economic and Technological Exchange Center from December 12th-14th 2017. The conference convened 66 international participants from 34 countries on all five continents and 200 national participants. It was the first multilateral international conference in Belt and Road era on volunteer service between developing countries. Many innovative ideas among the issues such as Volunteering Service for South-South Cooperation and Sustainable Development, Volunteering and Urban Development, Youth Volunteering for SDGs and People-to-People, Community Engagement and Volunteer Service, Private Sector and Volunteering for a Shared Future for Mankind, Measurement, Assessment and Impact of Volunteer Service came up during the conference. The conference also provided an opportunity to explore China's international strategic role and foreign aid, and represents a significant step for the development of international and Chinese volunteering.
